LEISURELY BREAKFAST

"All happiness depends on
 a leisurely breakfast."

~ John Gunther

I am NOT a morning person.
Most mornings I get up at 5:00 a.m.
to just enjoy the quiet and so
I don't have to rush before the
day gets rolling. I never-ever like
to rush.  I have time to read, knit
and enjoy a leisurely breakfast.

When the weather was cooler
I ate oatmeal every morning. I
would soak a quarter cup
of steel-cut oats overnight in
2 Tablespoons of yogurt and half
cup of water. The next morning  I
would add another half cup of water
and boil. Then I would top with it
yogurt and raw honey and hemp seeds.

Now...it's hot! I know, already and
it's not even May!
I am now making a smoothie
every morning for breakfast.
Besides not having to turn the
stove on...it's really yummy.

Plus it gives me an excuse to use
these cool straws.

What do you have to start the day?
xx

Clover's Breakfast Smoothie

1/2 cup frozen blueberries
1/2 cup frozen strawberries
1/2 cup canned in juice peaches
or 1 fresh mango
the meat of a young coconut
1/2 cup yogurt
3 Tablespoons hemp seeds
2 Tablespoons agave nectar

Add all ingredients to blender,
mix until blended smooth.

  5. I am totally with you on the leisurely breakfast! Your recipe for smoothies sounds delicious, and so does your oatmeal. I have been having my perennial favorite, which is toast toasted under the broiler with loads of butter and a big latte!
