THE EAGLE

He clasps the crag with crooked hands;
close to the sun in lonely lands,
ring'd with the azure world he stands.

The wrinkled sea beneath him crawls;
He watches from his mountain walls,
and like a thunderbolt he falls.

~Alfred Tennyson

I was shooting blind
into the bright sun so
the pictures are not as
good as I would like.

They were gliding,
hunting and moving fast.

Two males and
a female...

Bald Eagle  right
over my home.

I have seen them
before, but never
three together at
once.

Magnificent! xx

  1. Great pictures!
    We have eagles living in the mountain behind our house, but we don't see them very often... And there's no chance for me to grab a picture of them since they are flying so high.

  2. Beautiful. I love those creatures. Nests are common around here. We never get tired of looking for them :).

  3. WOW! Truly awesome. The photos are stunning, and I love them paired with that Tennyson poem. I've never seen a Bald Eagle in the wild. It must have been a very special moment.

  4. How wonderful that you saw three bald eagles right over your home! You are so lucky. I have only seem them in Alaska although I heard they nest in my area in the winter. They are so beautiful and powerful.
