IT'S THE LITTLE THINGS

Friendship isn’t a big thing —
it’s a million little things.

~Author Unknown

I am so touched by all
the help I have received
from each of you concerning
my dress and shawl knitting,
Thank you. I am knitting
along and have faith that
I will meet my deadline.
If I don't? I received a long
distance phone call from a
dear friend letting me know
she has a shawl that will be
perfect and can get it to me
in time.
 The weather here has turned
cooler making for perfect outdoor
knitting
under cloudless skies.
I even had to wear a
light jacket and socks
this morning!
 Do any of you buy
magazines just for the
ads? I bought the latest
issue of Vogue Knitting
just so I could frame this
page from the ads.
 I have been meaning to
show you the thoughtful
gifts that Maria from
Cats, Crafts and Penguins
sent me as part of the Pay
it Forward I signed up for.
Maria  is so talented, and
so sweet,  she even
sent a gift for Miss Bette,
which is a huge hit.
My mail box has been
busy this week. I received
some beautiful yarn and
stitch markers from a giveaway
I won hosted by the lovely
Andi of My Sister's Knitter
and a God's eye, a hand carved owl,
body butter and healing salve all from
the amazing Kim and her family at

Thank all of you ladies, I love everything
and am so blessed to have each of you
as we travel along in this life.
I just hugged you in my thoughts, I
hope you felt the squeeze.

Have a great weekend.
Love,
Tracey

JUST BEING ME

Lets just be who
we really are.

I've had a productive week,
how about you?

I finally have  a menu for
the rehearsal dinner, which
is in two weeks! Yikes!

I ordered my dress from this
site recommended by Ginny;
my fingers are crossed that
it fits, since menopause I wake
to a new body each morning so
I'll let you know when it arrives.
Then all I need to do is find shoes.

I want [need] to gut my kitchen
and remodel in the worse way.
I found my dream oven, but need
to convince my Mike that almost
$20,000 is worth it. I think it's an
heirloom piece and a great invest-
ment.

I also would like to order a new
mattress, the one we have is
a little hard for me [Mike loves it]
and I discovered this company.
Do you have a wool mattress? If
so I would love to hear what you
think.

There was a terrible storm the other
night, but it carried in much cooler
weather and I for one am thankful.
I have enjoyed taking a book sent
by a dear friend outside to read in
the hammock.

I have eaten a romaine, beet, feta
and pistachio salad every single
day for lunch, it's so good.

There is a special six year old here
for a few days and I don't think I
need to tell you how that makes
me feel. She is growing so fast
and I'm thankful I get some time
with her.

I have one question for you before
I say goodnight.  I have been thinking
about putting together a trip to Ireland.
A trip that takes in sheep, wool and all
the great knitting spots the country has
to offer. Oh, and seeing a few castles
would be awesome too. I wondered
if any of you out there would be interested
in going too?  It would probably take six
months to a year to get everything mapped
out, but first I wanted to see if anyone
was interested in going with me? Think
about it okay? I know we would have a
blast.

Sweet dreams to all of you and have a
great weekend.

Love,
Tracey

NAMASTE

namaste (nah-mas-tay): My soul honors your soul.
I honor the place in you where the entire universe
resides. I honor the light, love, truth, beauty & peace
within you, because it is also within me. In sharing
these things we are united, we are the same, we are
one.  I mean it from the center of my universe.

While the temperatures are still hitting
in the 90's there has been a shift this week,
a noticeable change in the light, lower
humidity levels, the 'smell' that says
fall will arrive, if not today, then soon.
Needless to say, I've loved it.
I have spent hours outdoors in the
beauty and peace that surrounds me,
soaking it all in deep.

The books are ready, my lesson plans
are written, on-line classes have been
signed up for, and the pencils sharpened.
Tuesday Alex begins his Junior year
of high school, I am excited for both
of us, it's going to be a great year.

Daenarys surprised me and started laying
eggs. I thought the eggs would be the size
of quail eggs, tiny, but she is laying pullet
size eggs. She is such a big girl now.

I discovered an apple, just one, but it's
one I grew and the squirrels didn't take;
an apple that will be cut three ways so
we can all enjoy it's sweetness.

My kitchen creativity was a little bit of
a flop this week. I made quinoa patties,
replacing the carrot with freshly ground
raw spinach. The patties looked pretty
with the flecks of green, but the taste just
wasn't what I hoped for so from now on
I will stick with carrot.

Next I made gluten free blueberry muffins
with brown rice flour and they were a little
on the dry side, ahem. They weren't wasted
though since I have a 17 year old garbage
disposal with legs and he loved them. Gluten
free cooking is new to me and I definitely
need more practice.

I've enjoyed this week and now I am getting
ready for the long weekend and spending
time with my favorite six year old. There
are no plans, just hanging out here and
playing, I'm so excited!

I wish you all the love, light, beauty, truth
and peace that this universe has to offer,
from my heart to yours, you deserve it!

Love,
Tracey

WHAT I'VE BEEN DOING

it doesn't matter what
others are doing.
it matters what
     YOU
are doing.

~ satsuki shibuya

It's been a busy few days
and I've love it.
I took a little trip to
visit my son Charlie and
his wife Ashley. I was
able to get a tour of the
area they live and if
it was closer to the beach
I might be tempted to
move ;)
We traveled on a long dirt
road that at one time was the
main connection between
Georgia and the upper part
of South Carolina.
You can still see the stumps
in the road after all these years.

If you look at the right of the
photo you can see what is left
of a plantation's stairs after the
home was burned on  Sherman's
March to the Sea.
 There was this little guy
sunning himself on a log.
I'm sorry it's a little blurry,
but he jumped in the water
right after I took the picture.
 I saw a fox squirrel
who posed for a photo.
 The cotton fields
were everywhere
and I want to see
them when the cotton
is ready to harvest.
I saw the cutest little home
that I think would be perfect
for me and Mike now that
most of the children are grown.

I loved this old building that
was built in 1910. It's a shame
it's now being used for storage
because it would cost over a million
dollars to make it safe  and the
owner can't afford that amount.
The snakes here at home have
been horrible this year.
We found this guy on the
side of the rabbit hutch
and I am still trying to catch
the one that is visiting my ducks
and eating eggs.
The Good Year Blimp
flew over the house which
is always fun to see.

I picked the first ripe
blueberry of the season.

And we finally had a good ol' summer
storm with lightening, thunder and rain!

I wish you a weekend that is nourishing
to your soul.

Love,
Tracey
