YARN ALONG

Happiness is like a butterfly
the more you chase it
the more it will elude you
But if you turn your attention
to other things
it will come and sit
softly on your shoulder.

Over the weekend I had the overwhelming
desire to cast on a new project and really
wanted to knit something to go with a pair
of boots. I went digging in my stash and
pulled out some Rowan Tweed in avocado.

Using size 4 needles I cast on 60 stitches,
knit 2, purled 2 for four rounds then knit
each round until it measured 10 inches.
I then knit 2, purled 2 for a ribbing 2.5 inches
and loosely bound off. I found some thin
cotton string and did a little picot edging,
crocheting in each knit stitch for 3 stitches,
chaining 3, all the way around. I really like
how it turned out and am already knitting
away on it's matching friend.

I finished reading What Alice Forgot which
was hard; the story line became very depressing
and it just went on and on...I just wanted it
over!

I picked up an old favorite to read now until
something else peaks my interest.

  6. Tracey, the photos are stunning! The first one with the hummingbird is just amazing! Your boot cuffs are turning out really, really cute! I made some out of a recycled sweater last year, but I think I am going to have to knit myself a pair - or two.

i know what you mean about having a good book to read - I've been thinking the same - need a small pile of books that I love that I can return to when I have nothing new (and great) to read.
