Ever since I knit Heat for
my Mama I have been wanting
to knit this pattern again. This
time I am using Bernat Handicrafter
Crochet Thread in a great color,
Orchid and while the weight is
a bit lighter than fingering I think
it will work. The yarn is acrylic,
not cotton like I thought, but it
feels like cotton which is perfect
for my southern spring weather.
In preparation for the lunar eclipse
I was reading Understanding Exposure
since I am lousy at taking night shots.
I am thankful I learned a few things,
I was able to play with the tripod, and
even took a picture of the moon
before the clouds and rain moved
in and I missed the eclipse.

ReplyDeleteThe flower meadow is gorgeous, what beautiful photographs. I read about the eclipse...what a shame that you missed it, but what an amazing lunar shot. I loved your mama's heat shawl...this one will be just as beautiful.
ReplyDeleteno eclipse for me either. :( night shots give me the hee-bee-gee-bees...you did a great job. (someone told me how to set my camera for fireworks---so I've been fairly success with them...but general night shots---. yech.)

ReplyDeleteI love the photos you take of your knitting - they're always so creative! It was too cloudy here as well to see the moon but there was a really pretty red haze that we could see through the clouds.

ReplyDeleteWe missed the eclipse too because of lousy weather. Your photos are just so beautiful. Speaking of beautiful that yarn is awesome! That should be a great project and just right for the weather you guys have down there.
ReplyDeleteI love the orchid. Gorgeous pictures as always! I missed the eclipse too. Although I got home from work at midnight, I was too tired to stay up. And for once the big dog didn't want out at 4AM!

ReplyDeleteI so admire your photography, Tracey. I spend a lot of time studying your photos--they are stunning. That meadow just makes my heart sing! (I woke up to snow today.) I can't wait to see this project when it's finished--I love color you chose; I adore lilac, orchid, and lavender. It looks like that yarn has excellent sheen and drape--perfect for a shawl.

ReplyDeleteLove the picture of the basket in the field and the detail of the purple flowers through the yarn. I tried a couple quick pictures of the moon when the dogs got me up in the middle of the night, but it wasn't working. Glad you were able to capture it.
ReplyDeleteHi Tracey, your photos and that yarn, oh, how beautiful! The color is so rich and inspiring. I just finished a baby hat out of a beautiful yellow daffodil colored yarn. I bought an extra couple of skeins and I think I am going to do a little sweater and bootie set to match. I am continuing to work on my sock set for the county fair in the fall. I don't know if I told you about that or not? I am doing a set, all in jewel tone colors: emerald, saphire blue, ruby, amethyst, and pearl. Each sock is going to be beaded with little sparkles and jewels. I am working on the pearl pair now. The top of the sock is going to be done in a lacy pattern called "snow flake". How I wish I could make my hands knit as fast as my heart would like! I hope you have a lovely afternoon ahead and as always it is so nice to hear from you, thank you for your sweet comments!
