"I think cinema, movies, and magic
have always been closely associated.
The very earliest people who made film
were magicians."
~Francis Ford Coppola
I am not a [huge] television watcher,
but I do love a good movie...
pure magic.
I sat down and came up with a list
of my [top] ten movies to watch at
least once in a life time ...if not
a dozen [or more].
[This list does not contain holiday
movies...that's another list for
another time.].
1.:: GONE WITH THE WIND
2.:: THE PHILADELPHIA STORY
3.::ARSENIC AND OLD LACE
4.:: CASABLANCA
5:: YOURS,MINE AND OURS
6.:: CAT ON A HOT TIN ROOF
7:: LOST HORIZON
8:: THE WIZARD OF OZ
9:: HARVEY
10.:: SABRINA
What would be on your list?

Arsenic and Old Lace! Aaaahhhh! My mother introduced us (my sister and I) to that movie when we were kids. I couldn't have been older than 8. It's been a favorite ever since. I still need to find a copy of it to share with my husband and oldest son, though. It always pleases me to hear that other people like that movie, too. (:
ReplyDeleteI do love Arsenic and Old Lace. Hmm a list. Now I would really have to think on that one! You are so right, a holiday movie list should be separate and I think I would need another list for animated movies!
ReplyDeletehmmmmm....a list, so depends on the mood I'm in. I do love Casablanca, The African Queen, On Golden Pond. Those three for sure, the rest....hmmmmm I'll have to think:)
ReplyDeleteI've never heard of Arsenic and Old Lace. I must keep an eye out for it now.
ReplyDeleteYou're a classic movie fan. I love Cat on a Hot Tin Roof. Also just re-watched Who's Afraid of Virginia Wolf?-classic Elizabeth Taylor.
ReplyDeleteMy favorites list would probably be mostly horror movies-I always watch them when Greg is out of town.

ReplyDeleteI have never seen some of these. I'm intrigued! Thanks so much for linking up with your list today. I'm honored!
ReplyDeleteOoo, fun! Let's see:
ReplyDelete*Much Ado About Nothing (Emma Thompson & Kenneth Branagh version)
*Sense & Sensibility (Emma Thompson, again)
*Out of Africa (young Robert Redford - swoon!)
*Baby Boom (silly, but still I love it)
*Everything Audrey Hepburn, including the 1989 _Always_ in which she had a small, but appropriate role as an angel)
*Ferris Bueller's Day Off (since it would seem I haven't watched many movies since the 80's!)
Thanks! That was so fun :-)
Give me a minute, I'm thinking...
ReplyDeleteMy Fair Lady
The Sound Of Music
Ever After
Seven Brides For Seven Brothers
Dreamer
Bella
Gone With The Wind
Love Comes Soft
Finding Neverland
Pride and prejudice (actually all of Jane

Little Women...
Definitely not comprehensive but a nice sampling!
Blessings, Debbie
