to sense the ebb and flow of the tides,
to feel the breath of a mist moving
over a great salt marsh, to watch
the flight of shore birds that have
swept up and down the surf lines
of the continents for untold thousands
of years, to see the running of the
old eels and young shad to the sea,
is to have knowledge of things
that are as nearly eternal as any
earthly life can be."
~ Rachel Carson
Before the rain I took a
walk to my favorite place
on the property.
This is my marsh....
a quiet place to relax
and just to 'be'.
Sometimes having time
alone with one's own
thoughts is what is needed
to make it thru the rest of
the day.
Have a great Tuesday. xx
Quiet places to relax always give me happiness :)
ReplyDeleteI love all the moss. I guess we're getting your rain today-we're having some wicked storms.

These are beautiful photos. I live near a Rachel Carson Wildlife Refuge and I can see what she's writing because there's marsh all around us where we live. Your marshes are equally beautiful!
ReplyDeleteYour marsh is so beautiful. There is something very special about marshes and sloughs. I agree about alone time ... it is necessary.
